The “Jakeem Thunder” character who will wield the famous “Thunderbolt” has been cast for DC’s Stargirl Season 2.

Decider has revealed that Alkoya Brunson will be playing the youngest member of the Justice Society, with Jim Gaffigan voicing the “Thunderbolt” genie inside the pen. The Jakeem character first appeared in Grant Morrison’s short-lived run on The Flash comics; he also was featured during the Geoff Johns run of the JSA comic book. Johns is, of course, the creator of Courtney Whitmore a.k.a. Stargirl and is an Executive Producer on the TV series.

Brunson’s previous credits include the sitcom Me, Myself & I as well as the Atlanta-shot series The Originals which also aired on The CW.

Season 2 of DC’s Stargirl is due to hit the air sometime in 2021; follow @StargirlTV on Twitter for updates about the show!
