Deadline is reporting that DC Universe series Stargirl has added Heathers alum Cameron Gellman. He’ll be playing an undisclosed DC character in a series regular role.
From Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schechter, Stargirl follows high school student Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she bands together with the Justice Society of America to fight villains of the past and present.
In addition to his role as Kurt Kelly on the controversy-plagued Paramount Network series, Gellman has appeared on the likes of The Middle, The Fosters, and The Thundermans.
He joins a cast that includes Joel McHale (The Soup), Lou Ferrigno Jr. (SWAT), Anjelika Washington (Marvel’s Runaways), Yvette Monreal (Faking It), Christopher James Baker (Ozark), Joy Osmanski (Devious Maids), Luke Wilson (Enlightened), Neil Hopkins (Lost), Meg DeLacy (The Fosters), Jake Austin Walker (Rectify), and Nelson Lee (Sneaky Pete).
Set to premiere later this year, Stargirl is part of a growing scripted slate for DC Universe that includes Titans, recently debuting Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Young Justice: Outsiders, and Harley Quinn.
